My Work

I work in watercolour, oils, acrylics, collage, and drawing media on artworks large and small from private commissions to community projects and murals. My work has been used as book illustrations, fine art prints, and on products like cards, mugs, and tea towels. Click here to see some examples.

Private Commissions

 

A large portion of my work is commissioned by private clients often for presentations and gifts for significant events such as weddings, retirement, and special birthdays. The client provides me with information to work from. I produce sketches for approval before starting on the artwork.

 

Quite often, the artwork contains many facets of a person’s life, arranged into one picture. I like to include surprising details and touches of humour.  

 

Of course, I also produce realistic representations of all types of subject matter.

 

Prices vary according to complexity and size starting from around £200 to a few £1000. 

Public and Community Commissions

 

I work with a range of organisations such as schools, children’s centres, charities, business support, and science. Projects usually involve, discussion, planning, workshops, designing, and final artwork. Some examples are:

 

  • Didcot First Science Montage. Pictorial map of the local science organisations surrounded by pictures of individuals at work. This is being use to promote science in the Thames Valley.

 

  • Rainbow Children’s Centres. I did printing workshops with pre-school children then used their images to create a large collage to be permanently displayed in the centre.

 

  • I have painted murals on interior and exterior walls in residential homes depicting subjects to stimulate and interest the residents e.g. beach scene, steam train, tractor, and flower meadow.            

 

Projects have ranged from £400 to £5000. Some of the projects have been funded through community or arts grants.  

Products

 

I produce a range of limited edition prints mostly based on subjects of local interest from a Noah’s Ark based on the village school to montages of nearby villages.

   

My paintings have been used as book illustrations and many have appeared on greetings cards. I regularly produce local Christmas card designs.

 

I designed the artwork for a mug and a T towel promoting Didcot town.
